Watercolor – Submerged #1
This 2002 Watercolor explores the fluidity and fading of the landscape through a liquid and rarefied vision. The work evokes a submerged dimension or a natural horizon transfigured by mists and tides, where the boundaries of the earth yield to the permeability of the aquatic element.
The composition develops through wet-on-wet glazes: the warm and diffuse luminosity in tones of pale yellow and amber, visible in the upper part, fades toward the center into cerulean and turquoise transparencies. On the sides, mountain profiles or cliffs in tones of dark purple, indigo, and brown anchor the space, while chromatic ignitions of pure orange and ochre surface at the base, akin to flashes emerging from the seabed.
A graphic work of contemplative and lyrical breath, suitable for enhancing living environments with contemporary design, entrances, or studies seeking atmospheric and essential compositions.
